Assistant Resident Engineer Civil & Marine

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer Civil & Marine to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing dredging, reclamation, Cofferdam, Sheet piling, rock armour breakwater structures , Causeway and other civil construction techniques and methods to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Your primary duties will include coordinating with project stakeholders, planning, scheduling and the Construction supervision of dredging activities, reclamation, Cofferdam, Sheet piling, rock armour breakwater structures, Causeway and other civil construction techniques and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to optimize the civil and marine processes and achieve project goals within specified timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine and civil operations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure. A degree in civil engineering, along with relevant experience in marine management, is typically required for this role. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of dredging, reclamation, rock armour, cofferdam, causeway, sheet piling and cause way work from planning to execution.

  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams to ensure adherence to project specifications.

  • Supervise the civil team and provide guidance and support as needed.

  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or delays.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project delivery.

  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess work quality and progress.

  • Prepare reports, documentation, and project updates for the resident Engineer.

  • Directly manage the construction activities on-site, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with the approved plans and specifications.

  • Possess excellent planning, ensuring that projects are completed within scope, on time, and within approved project documents.

  • Coordinate effectively with cross-functional departments within the organization, including Marine survey works, engineering, logistics, and other relevant teams, fostering seamless communication and collaboration to optimize project outcomes.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.

  • Monitor and review the technical submittals and approval process. Identify improvements that can be achieved about sequencing and Progress on the project by all parties during construction.

  • Monitor the Inspection process and identify improvements where possible.

  • Monitor QHSE performance and identify and address deviations in performance.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with minimum of 10 years of progressive experience shows expert knowledge of marine and civil construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices such as but not limited to dredging, reclamation, Cofferdam, Sheet piling, rock armour breakwater structures and Causeway construction techniques and methods include ground improvement and water structures.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team effectively.

  • Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
