Overview

The Project Manager II is responsible for the entire life cycle of a project from inception through to closure. This includes Controls design, Controls installation, and retro-commissioning projects. Shall ensure that the project is delivered efficiently and effectively in accordance with budget, schedule, quality, and exceeds the client's expectations.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities:

  • Participate in business development activities through response to Request For Qualifications (RFQ), Request For Proposal (RFP) and participation in project interview presentations.

  • Work with the client (internal or external) to define the project scope, schedule, deliverables, risks and the expectations that are considered to deliver a successful project.

  • Develop a proposal to document the project scope, schedule, deliverables, measures of success and the associated fee.

  • Develop an internal Work Plan to define revenue, hours budget, internal cost budget, travel budget, sub- consultant budget, and estimate reimbursable amounts.

  • Develop budgets for Controls installation projects that balance the capabilities of internal and external resources to deliver the project on schedule.

  • Ensure the revenue and budget estimates are entered into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to accurately reflect the execution of the project.

  • Work with Leadership to ensure the project is correctly resourced per the established budgets and schedule.

  • Schedule the project tasks and resources to ensure the agreed-upon schedule is met within the budget constraints established.

  • Establish a project Kick Off meeting and ensure all team members are effectively communicated to throughout the course of the project.

  • Manage team members and sub-consultants to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Continuously track and report project execution against budget in terms of schedule adherence, deliverables, cost and revenue.

  • Where appropriate, technically direct/execute aspects of the project.

  • Manage the client expectations and ensure regular updates are effectively communicated throughout the duration of the project.

  • Ensure the project is closed out when appropriate and all commercial aspects are completed.

  • Participates in relevant organizations for networking and professional development.

  • Any other duties as assigned by Company Leadership.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Logic Director.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related technical field.

  • 5+ Years of experience in one of the following sectors: Engineering, Construction, Facilities Management, or Energy.

  • Demonstrated experience to lead and manage a team of technical staff.

  • Demonstrated experience with strong analytical, organizational and planning skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.

  • Experience in Controls discipline.

  • The Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Experience in the Energy sector.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25-50% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.

  • Climbing stairs.

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.

  • Noisy environment.

  • Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
