If providing hope and healing through compassionate, innovative, and individualized care interest you, we welcome your application for the position below.Maintenance Supervisor I - Plumbing of the Maintenance Department performs complex (journey-level) maintenance and construction supervisory work. Work involves planning, assigning, and scheduling staff for the installation, care, and repair of state facilities and equipment. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Works under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance for the San Antonio State Hospital (SASH) overseeing the daily operations and activities of the Maintenance Plumbing Department for SASH and the State Supported Living Center (SSLC). Work involves supervising maintenance staff, scheduling and assigning work, requisitioning materials, and supplies, estimating job work hours and materials required for projects, maintenance, and repair as well as preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating activities with other supervisors. Oversees contractual work performed by contractors and ensures work is verified and invoices are submitted in a timely manner. Will work with the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system as it pertains to maintenance and plant operations work in support of facility property, equipment, and projects. Will ensure all work is in compliance with The Joint Commission (JC), The Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability (ICF/IID), Life Safety Code and other regulatory standards. This position will assist in developing procedures, services, and performance standards to provide quality services to (consumers, patients, staff, and visitors etc.).Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be asked to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Oversees maintenance and construction staff performing highly complex or primarily medium in scale maintenance and repairs and ensures that work standards and safety and building regulations are met.Oversees, plans, and monitors contract projects and purchases. Prepares specifications and manages construction projects utilizing outside contractors. Ensures contract work and purchases remain within budget and projects are completed according to plan. Coordinates work of outside contractors and advise management on specifics of proposed or ongoing projects.Oversees and participates in scheduled preventative maintenance programs.
