State of Utah - Jobs Senior Business Analyst in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Office of Recovery Services (ORS) is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to work with a fantastic team in Taylorsville.  If you are are interested in troubleshooting,identifying issues with the computer network and software,working with computer and network security to meet IRS regulations,and receiving on-the-job-training,this job is for you!

Experience a positive work-life balance,with a Monday through Friday (8am - 5pm) work schedule and excellent benefits!   *Principal Duties * This is a job focused on imaging technology.  Technology experience and ORS operational experience is beneficial,however,not required. We will train and create learning opportunities for the right candidate.  This is a senior level job. The Senior Business Analyst typically performs activities which may include: the utilization of computer software programs to store data,retrieve stored data,analyze retrieved data,and arrange results in a format that effectively supports the organization's production activities. They coordinate the use of information analysis related hardware,software,and data with the organization's employees and/or the public; interface with data processing users to automate applications and/or resolve application and operating problems; help customers identify better ways to utilize the system's capabilities; estimate project costs; assure deadlines are met; negotiate common standards for data formats; assess needs for data analysis related hardware,software,and data; and make recommendations to management for improving and/or maintaining effective information analysis support for the organization. Senior Business Analysts at this level resolve complex operation and/or data processing issues and may monitor system performance. They make recommendations for enhancements; review systems to ensure compliance with procedures,policies,regulations; and facilitate/chair work groups,etc.   The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is self-motivated,has a desire to learn new technologies,and has proficient experience with PC's,scanners,and business and financial analysis. The Senior Business Analyst also performs the following tasks:

  • Adapts automated system(s) to accommodate special and complex agency needs; designs or enhances agency unique automated systems to interface with existing systems as needed.
  • Anticipates the impact that new or modified software will have on existing standards and systems.
  • Identifies problems or potential problem areas and recommends solutions.
  • Selects testing methods to evaluate the success of both software upgrades and modifications.
  • Plans and manages projects and/or programs. Writes (or discusses) project/program plan(s),recommendation(s) and/or finding(s).
  • Facilitates/Chai rs work groups,teams,and/or meetings. Creates a positive environment,evaluates group processes,recommends solutions or alternatives,etc.
  • Audits and reviews systems and practices to ensure compliance with procedures,regulations and standards.
  • Reviews and/or inspects work for quality,accuracy,and completeness.
  • Recommends user level computer system enhancements to better meet customer needs.
  • Monitors and evaluates operations,programs,processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitors system performance to ensure proper operation and identify possible problem areas.
