Description
A prominent services company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

Requirements
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Vow to meet business deadlines
Financial planning experience
GAAP Accounting experience desired
Well-founded grasp of Cash Disbursements
Foundational knowledge in Financial Statement
Proven knowledge of financial statements consolidation
Earlier work involving Weekly Account Payable
Quality experience with forecasting
Monthly Financial Statements experience
Practical knowledge of Forecast Activities
Command of US GAAP
General familiarity with cash forecasting
Wide ranging experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
CPA/MBA preferred
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
