Overview

The Environmental Business Development Manager will work with the Company Managing Director to develop and implement strategic business development plans to win environmental consulting and remediation work to achieve company revenue and experience goals. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

The Environmental Business Development Manager will work with the Company Managing Director to

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to win environmental consulting and remediation work to achieve company revenue and experience goals.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and analysis.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs to provide tailored solutions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with teaming partners and key subcontractors.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities.

  • Prepare and conduct capability presentations for potential clients.

  • Work with Proposal Team staff to ensure successful preparation and submission of Federal and non-Federal contract proposals.

  • Work with Project Management Office staff in developing past performance narratives for use in proposals.

  • Maintain knowledge of U.S. Small Business Administration Business Development Program policies and updates or 8(a), Tribal 8(a) and HUBZone programs.

  • Become knowledgeable on State or Local disadvantaged business entity programs that may assist in capturing work.

  • Stay current on Federal, State, and Tribal government contracting laws, policies and procedures as relevant to developing business for Cayuse.

  • Maintain an understanding of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) as it pertains to pursuit, award and performance of federal contracts.

  • Assist in developing annual marketing budget for travel, conference attendance and other expenses related to business development and new sales.

  • Prepare and present reports on business development activities and progress.

  • Represent Cayuse with integrity and professionalism.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field OR a business / marketing field.

  • Federal Contracting Experience: 5 years (required)

  • Strong knowledge of environmental consulting and environmental remediation services.

  • Proven track record in sales or business development, with a focus on environmental consulting and remediation services.

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Must possess problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent strategic planning abilities, with a focus on identifying opportunities.

  • Ability to identify and engage teaming partners and key subcontractors.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, teammates, and internal Cayuse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in (or ability to rapidly become proficient in) the SalesForce TechnoMile application.

  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.

  • Excellent business and industry acumen

  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.

  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Reports to: Company Managing Director

Working Conditions

  • Professional remote office environment.

  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties while standing for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.\Travel is expected and may vary from month to month, with an average of 25-35% travel time.

  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.

  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.

  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.

  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range

USD $75,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
