As part GE Aerospace Engineering, the Staff Engineer – Mechanical Design (Engine Structures) will be responsible for the mechanical design, manufacture, and delivery of hardware used in the development testing of the next generation of narrow body jet engines. You will be required to push the boundaries of what is possible with the latest technologies and materials developed at GE Aerospace. This role is a part of the Compression Systems and Structures team.

Job Description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with minimal supervision on the design and analysis of complex engine structures, applying sound engineering principles and following business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements

  • Share technical guidance and a subject matter expert that supports the achievement of other people working on complex tasks; coach others in the organization.

  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned hardware

  • Create action plans, with support, to address issues/ problems

  • Provide strategy to fulfill the technical and program requirements

  • Contribute as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with internal and external customers

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • At least 5 additional years of experience in a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering position.
