Job Purpose/Overview

The primary responsibility of the Strategic Account Representative is to provide superior customer and sales support to our strategic account hospitals and clientele. This position will have specific account responsibility for growing strategic account hospitals. This includes same-store sales for reference laboratory and in-house diagnostics, identifying opportunities for Antech Imaging Services, Sound Technology and other SDx offerings while providing excellent customer service and an unrelenting pursuit of our belief that better diagnostics leads to better medicine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales calls to promote, sell, and service existing and potential strategic account animal hospitals, veterinarians, and staff.

  • Builds and maintain relationships with strategic account to implement growth opportunities and strategic focus created and outlined by the Strategic Account Manager

  • Identifies customer needs for additional products and services and provides customers the best solution to their current practice needs.

  • Responsible for handling customer service issues with strategic account hospitals on the phone and on-site at the hospitals within the assigned strategic account

  • Collaborate with Strategic Account Manager to identify opportunities, create targeted campaigns to grow market share and expand new lines of business wins.

  • Make outbound calls to aligned strategic account hospitals to discuss areas of opportunity and provide support, which may include cold calling.

  • The position will require some on-site visits to the strategic account hospitals to work with their practice manager and/or hospital director to help identify growth opportunities and gaps to drive same store sales.

  • Implement quarterly sales plan with Strategic Account Manager to achieve sales goals and objectives.

  • Provide product and lab diagnostic support and service, including consultation at staff in-services and veterinarian seminars.

  • Participate in strategic account meetings with Strategic Account Manager to discuss account and hospital performance and areas of growth opportunities.

  • Work directly with Strategic Account Director to identify, communicate and implement growth opportunities within strategic account hospitals.

  • Conducts research prior to sales calls and/or on-site visits to obtain information and insight to anticipate issues and enhance the overall customer experience.

  • Coordinate daily support activities and customer activities at meetings as assigned.

  • Complete administrative duties as required.

  • Utilize approved sales collateral to support promotional and regional needs.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams and internal resources to co-promote additional Antech services and products.

  • Accurately educate customers on proper specimen handling requirements and turnaround times.

  • Accurately create open Problem Tracking tickets and act as liaison between customer support and the hospital until the problem is resolved.

  • Cultivate and maintain a well-rounded knowledge of the daily operations of the reference laboratory, In-house diagnostics, Sound Technology and Antech Imagining.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills but is also able to effectively route issues to the proper personnel for resolution.

  • Effectively handle consultation calls.

  • Email consult requests to outside/specialty consultants via Outlook email.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (Animal Health, Biological Sciences, Lab Sciences or Business-related field) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician, laboratory technician or medical assistance is preferred.

  • Previous sales experience in a service industry, preferably in Animal Healthcare, Human Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Sales, or Capital Equipment, is optimal.

  • 2 or more years knowledge in Veterinary Diagnostics services is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively explain differences in tests, methodologies and profiles that are offered by Antech reference laboratory and in-house diagnostics.

  • Understand and be able to effectively explain Antech Imagining services and Sound Technologies to drive growth, identify and win upgrade opportunities and expand lines of business across all products and services.

  • Ability to comfortably discus Antech Diagnostics, Imaging and Sound during industry events.

  • Proven ability to work with internal functional teams to effectively represent national account opportunities for growth and standardization of offerings by the field team.

  • Ability to travel to attend zone and regional meetings.

  • Ability to facilitate presentations share understanding of the full SDx portfolio.

Travel

  • There will be some travel and overnight stays associated with hospital visits and meetings, up to 40% of the time.

The Target Pay Range for this position is $64,200 - $90,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
