Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) designed to protect cloud-based applications running in all major cloud providers. Microsoft Defender for Cloud secures cloud applications from code-to-cloud by unifying development security operations (DevSecOps) at the code level, cloud security posture management (CSPM) to surface and prevent breaches and cloud workload protection platform (CWPP) to identify, alert and block real-time cyber-attacks worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Work on business-critical initiatives that directly shape the future of Microsoft Defender for Cloud business.

  • You will drive heads-on boundaryless research on disrupting cloud security initiatives to create inception and successfully deploy them in the relevant teams.

  • Shape architecture of DevOps/API as critical part of the Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform, addressing - complete risk visibility, prioritization, and remediation across modern applications and software supply chains, powered by deep code analysis and runtime context including Application Security Posture Management

  • Work & collaborate extensively with teams Globally in different Time Zones

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related Technical Discipline AND 8+ years Technical Engineering Experience with Coding in Languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of working experience in Cyber Security working on leading disruptive technologies

  • 5+ years of working experience on large-scale production systems

  • 3+ years of experience in close work with product, help with shaping strategy, and realizing it into lasting architecture and delivering products to customers

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
