We are seeking an innovative and skilled Senior Software Engineering Manager at the Microsoft Development Centre in Prague. In this role, you will be managing a team that contributes to developing, designing, and operating large-scale data systems that make up our next-generation platform. Your team will have a direct impact on people globally and on one of the world's most significant data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the Semantic Fabric, a cutting-edge technology delivering semantic indexing and search experiences across Microsoft Office 365. 

  • Build a strong team by addressing any communication challenges and promoting a sense of unity. 

  • Foster a culture of excellence in coding standards, design principles, and software engineering best practices. 

  • Mentor and support engineers in their technical growth and problem-solving skills. 

  • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives. 

  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team, fostering innovation and efficiency. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in management or team leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and influence across teams.

  • Familiarity with Semantic Search or Indexing technology 

  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and thoroughly.
