ManTech Senior Systems Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior System Administrator to join our team in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain/troubleshoot customer Windows based servers, workstations, and related peripherals, both on-site and remotely.

  • Providing IT Systems support on a wide range of technologies, including Microsoft Windows 10 Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policies, administering Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Office 2010/2016.

  • Walking customers through problem solving process and follow up with customers to ensure proper incident closure

  • Perform account management duties to include the creation, modification, and deactivation of Windows accounts through Active Directory.

  • Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.

  • Troubleshooting of basic network issues.

  • Administer network monitoring capabilities using government-provided monitoring tools on large, classified enterprise.

  • Properly evaluate and escalate unresolved tickets to the next level of support

  • Following standard operating procedures; accurately logging all tickets using the defined tracking software

  • Writing and maintaining documentation for supported services, processes, configurations, etc. through Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

  • Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers.

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or a related scientific discipline or five (5) or more years of relative experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

  • Must possess 3-5 years of experience in a Microsoft Windows dominant administrator position.

  • Must be a self-starter who can take senior-leader guidance and intent and oversee the operations of collaborative and assigned projects.

  • Must be DoD 8570.01-M compliant, IAT II. (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP)

  • Must be open to 10% annual CONUS/OCONUS travel and hold a valid US Driver’s License and US Passport..

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in a Microsoft Windows, Server or Office discipline

  • ITIL Foundations certification

  • Scripting experience or willingness to learn

  • VMware vCenter, Horizon View, HPAC Secure Printing

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility adjudicated within the past 6 years.

  • Candidate must be open to CI poly.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a sedentary position.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.

  • The person in this position must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
