Mizuho Corporate Bank Associate Relationship Manager (bilingual JP-EN) in New York, United States

Summary: This positions is in our Japanese North American Banking group (JNAB) . Primary responsibility is to develop business with small and medium-sized companies as well as expand business relationships with existing customers by offering various banking services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development with Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME)

  • Develop new business relationship with SMEs by offering various banking products, including but not limited to, loans, trade finance, foreign exchange, deposits and others.

  • By developing new business, contribute to the division by increasing profits and customer base.

  • Coordinate with Head Office and gather information of new companies starting business in US.

  • Research existing companies doing business in US and explore the possibility of starting new business relationship with them.

Business Promotion with Existing Customers:

  • Expand business with existing customers by offering various banking products, including but not limited to, loans, trade finance, foreign exchange, deposits and others.

  • Contribute to the division by increasing profit.

  • Coordinate with Head Office and gather information of customers’ business development within US.

Relationship Management:

  • Develop good relationship with prospective customers.

  • Maintain good relationship with existing customers through regular communication.

  • Gather information regarding customers’ business and industry.

  • Meet customers’ requirements by answering transaction-related questions and help troubleshoot.

  • Support customers by giving finance related information

Risk Management:

  • In case of credit related customers, analyze credit worthiness and create reports as necessary.

  • Gather KYC related documents. Assign KYC risk rating of customers in charge. Monitor risk rating on a regular basis.

  • Clarify and resolve compliance related issues regarding customers’ transactions.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain and update customer files.

  • Other administrative duties as deemed necessary by DGM or GM.

Minimum Job Requirements or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline

  • Knowledge of financial products, thorough understanding of credit policies and procedures as well as working knowledge of regulations specific to banks.

  • Good knowledge of financial products.

  • Excellent analytical skills. Ability to thoroughly and effectively analyze financial issues and develop/coordinate appropriate solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.

  • Excellent organization and planning skills. Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple concurrent transactions/projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent team orientation with the ability to understand the perspective and priorities of others. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with all appropriate departments/divisions of the firm.

  • Flexibility to work variable hours due to the workflow.

  • Bilingual (English and Japanese)

    The expected base salary ranges from $92,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
