“Fund Accounting Associate” sought by Global X Management Company LLC (“Global X” or “GX” or “Global X Management Company”), headquartered at 605 Third Avenue, 43rd Floor, New York, NY 10158. Must live in New York City or surrounding area (so as to be within a reasonable, commuting distance of corporate headquarters and the worksite address, given above, in New York, NY). Note that while regularized telecommuting (i.e., exclusively or predominately working remotely from home), this historically was not permitted pre-pandemic, we, like so many United States (“U.S.”) businesses, had to relax this starting in 2020 due to COVID-19. A limited telecommuting benefit now consequently is freely available to all staff; a hybrid approach and model has been adopted. Under this, we ask and expect that at least fifty percent of all work time will be performed from Global X New York City corporate headquarters (doubling as worksite here, with full address, given above). Apart from this, telecommuting from home is allowed, up to fifty percent of the time therefore as well. Corporate support of such an arrangement (of home and office split), this will continue indefinitely going forward. Traditional, job description now follows.“Fund Accounting Associate” represents a traditional, in-house, accountant role. It is involved in analyzing international taxation events and financial transactions; ensuring cash-flow, access to capital and lending sources, and monitoring financial resources and reserves; performing tax-related planning; auditing financial fund performance and operations; facilitating regulatory compliance in finance, taxation and accounting; and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities further span annual financial audits; preparing and revising annual corporate tax returns for U.S. and other jurisdictions; providing regular tax estimates; preparing profit-and-loss projections, balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, financial charts, and graphs; performing analyses involving withholding taxes to optimize foreign taxation; developing customized financial-accounting models using Microsoft (“MS”) Excel, tailored to proprietary GX funds and investment solutions, and that integrate cash-flow projections, projected vendor expenses, and that make use of financial statement content; maintaining and updating customized financial-accounting models, again via MS Excel; ensuring firm compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (“GAAP”); engaging in daily cash reviews; monitoring wire transfers, both international and domestic; processing capital draws taken by GX partners; managing capital distributions made to the funds themselves; processing capital distributions to entities related to proprietary GX funds; collaborating cross-functionally within Global X Management Company, providing support to investment and portfolio management teams regarding accounting issues and areas of financial and business risk; collaborating further internally in cross-functional fashion, working closely with other GX departments, on areas of business management that overlap with the accounting function, including expense reconciliation and management; assisting with the production of written accounting-related subject-matter on GX funds; and participating in ad-hoc financial analyses and special finance projects (as directed by GX management), involving application of principles of accounting. This position, to be clear, it is not a supervisory capacity. The "Fund Accounting Associate” does not have subordinate, direct reports. Position is a hands-on, individual contributor, responsible for regular and ongoing, accounting-practice execution. The role, in short, to disclaim, it does not manage other GX personnel. Role also in this same vein, it does not require licensure as a Certified Public Accountant. Position reports directly to and is supervised by Global X’ Head of Finance & Business Management. Full-time position; base annual salary of $115,000.00 per year. Requires a Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in accounting or related field. Also requires two years of all the following experience: (a) performing fund-focused accounting in either a public or private accounting setting; (b) using MS Excel for accounting applications and purposes; (c) applying U.S. GAAP principles; and (d) addressing realized, unrealized and tax-waterfall allocations.
