About the Job:

As a member of our Data & Analytics Team, you will work across Capco’s different domains and solution offerings to help break down large problems, develop approaches and solutions. As a Data Scientist, you will create tailor-made solutions from complex client anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-financial crime (AFC) data applying mathematical, problem-solving, and coding skills to manage big data to extract valuable insights for our clients.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Design, develop, and implement predictive and descriptive models to identify and prevent financial crime.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure models meet business needs and regulatory standards.

  • Continuously improve and refine models based on feedback and performance metrics.

  • Utilize knowledge of AML regulations and financial crime typologies to inform model development and testing.

  • Conduct extensive back-testing and stress-testing of models to ensure they perform well under various scenarios.

  • Work with large datasets to extract, clean, and preprocess data for model development.

  • Apply advanced statistical techniques and methodologies to analyze data and derive actionable insights.

  • Communicate complex statistical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proactively identify and address challenges related to data, model accuracy, and operational implementation.

  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.

What You’ll Bring with You:

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying transaction models in a financial crime or AML context.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL.

  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and their application in real-world scenarios.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative mindset.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience.

  • Experience with AML regulations and financial crime prevention strategies.

New York Pay Range

$151,000—$190,000 USD
