Trinity Health Analyst - Community Health and Well Being - Remote/Hybrid in Livonia, Michigan

Description:

Position can be remote, if within commuting range to Livonia office position will be Hybrid, two days per week in office.

Supports the Community Health & Well-Being’s (CHWB) investment in our communities and strengthen community benefit impact strategies that optimize health for people experiencing poverty and other vulnerabilities in our communities by advancing health and racial equity. Primary responsibilities include developing resources, and participating in and supporting the analytic design, data collection, and measurement reporting in compliance with regulatory, industry and Trinity Health standards for community benefit programs, community health needs assessments and implementation strategies and various initiatives aligned with achievement of the CHWB strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in behaviors, practices and decisions.

Applies a thorough understanding of community benefit requirements based on IRS requirements, Catholic Health Association (CHA) guidelines and Trinity Health standards. Provides technical assistance and analytic consultation to RHMs regarding community benefit definitions and requirements, variance analysis, accounting for community benefits and on Trinity Health’s community benefit reporting processes, tools and online reporting database.

Serves as one of the system administrators and subject matter experts for the community benefit online reporting database, Lyon Software (CBISA). Assists with maintaining and developing Trinity Health reporting standards in CBISA and setting up new users. Responsible for ongoing review and analysis of community benefit reporting in CBISA for proper calculation, categorization, completeness, naming conventions, and links to community health needs.

Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the collection, reporting and use of community benefit data and collaborating with the system office and local RHM CHWB teams to recommend and develop tools and resources for process improvements to strengthen reporting. Prepares updates to the Trinity Health Community Benefit Guide and toolkits for RHMs for best practice reporting.

Regularly monitors performance and analyzes RHM monthly community benefit financial reports for completeness and accuracy, highlights trends, examines interactions in metrics, and identifies opportunities for improvements to leaders and stakeholders. Participates in and supports the collection, analysis and reporting of the community benefit monthly financial data for the community impact improvement measure.

Draws strategic and tactical conclusions from data analysis through summarization, interpretation and visualization of data so to make recommendations to leadership in an easy-to-understand communication format.

Reviews and ensures IRS Schedule H narrative responses (Part VI) are completed timely and accurately by each facility and aligned with current federal guidance in collaboration with communications and tax departments. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, consolidating, and providing community benefit and CHNA compliance information to System Office Tax department for various reporting structures to be included in the IRS Schedule H filed by Trinity Health organizations. Responsible for meeting key deadlines.

Manages risks by ensuring key stakeholders are informed of CHNA and

Implementation Strategy (IS) required due dates. Monitors compliance timing by collecting and documenting hospital progress on CHNA and IS impact measures and is responsible for preparing written summaries to keep manager informed of issues or potential risks, as needed.

Provides support to the Community Investing Program by collecting required financial and programmatic reporting documents from approximately 30 program borrowers totaling upwards of $75M in deployed loans, tracking collection of loan documents, and maintaining the loan database spreadsheet.

Supports communication between the Community Investing Program and its borrowers by assisting the Community Investing and Resource Development Administrator in managing various loan notification processes with borrowers.

Assists in developing reports on community investing impact by supporting the annual Community Investing Program data collection process and partner census.

Regularly monitors performance of key indicators in the Trinity Health Data Hub, including the Trinity Health Vital Signs, CHNA and other department community data needs. Highlights trends, examines interactions in metrics, identifies opportunities for improvements, and provides training to users of the Trinity Health Data Hub.

Develops trusted relationships through efficient, high-quality execution of analyses and effective communication regarding expectations and timelines.

Develops portions of presentations, publications, webinars and trainings for CHWB executives, senior management, governance and Board, in collaboration with other stakeholders.

Conducts special projects or perform other duties as assigned by management.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of health care, as normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree in Health Care, Public Health, Business, Accounting or a related field with three (3) years of related healthcare experience performing finance related functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and ability to present complex financial data in a comprehensive summary and/or visual format.

Strong analytical skills. Ability to develop appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data and other information.

Technical knowledge of community benefit reporting standards is preferred.

Ability to work under pressure and complete multiple assignments in a time constrained environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision of daily tasks.

Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Health Ministries (HMs).

This position may be from a 100% remote location.

Incumbent communicates frequently, in person, by email and over the phone, with people in multiple locations.

Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication.

The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time and adapt to interruptions.
