Summary:

Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others. Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional & departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards. Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients. Actively participates in the attainment of Organization's strategic plan, goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional & departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards

  • Consistently and effectively coordinates the daily operations of occupational health programs & services - clinical, clerical and administrative functions - for area of responsibility/operating unit.

  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety and environmental services - anticipates changes and recommends and implements new policies and work improvement initiatives as indicated.

  • Demonstrates an ethical decision making framework in all activities. Through personal and professional relationships, promotes OHS mission and values and fosters community integration.

  • Ensures development and maintenance of confidential health records 100% of the time. Effectively coordinates provisions for employee compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients.

  • Demonstrates expertise with provisions of the NC Workers' Compensation Act and serves as a case coordinator for all claims at operating unit.

  • Processes all client logs and associated documents in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with insurance, legal and regulatory requirements.

Education Requirements:

● Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

● Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.

Professional Experience Requirements:

● Two years of hands-on clinical nursing experience.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

● Epidemiology/infection control, toxicology, industrial and environmental hygiene
