The facilities and maintenance department within the SC Johnson College of Business and Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration support the daily missions of students, faculty, and staff by providing consistent facility services. Position Summary

As a member of the Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, Maintenance Mechanics perform preventative maintenance, minor, repairs, and emergency response to facilities-related matters. Maintenance Mechanics may be designated to perform work for the School of Hotel Administration or the Statler Hotel, depending on maintenance and facilities needs.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma and formal training of 1-2 years in a vocational school, trade school or apprenticeship program.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or HVAC.
  • Must have a valid NY State Driver's License
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and well-being.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Experience working with diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellbeing programs.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Must be proficient in the use of power/hand tools and mechanical/electrical testing equipment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to provide a high level of customer service to all internal clients.
