About the Role : Release Train Engineer

The Team : Digital Technology Services (DTS) is a part of the Digital Solutions corporate function. Within DTS, the Platforms & Tools teams build products and platforms that deliver value and meet customer needs, as well as help DTS achieve its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities and Impact : In this position you will lead a DTS Platforms & Tools Agile Release Train (ART) and work in close partnership with the Transformation Coaches/team and Value Management Office to focus ART on delivering value and operational excellence. Specifically, the individual in this role will be a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for an ART, performing the following but not limited to:

  • Facilitate PI Planning and ART events and processes, supporting teams and optimizing Flow.

  • Support PI execution by tracking progress, facilitating periodic synchronization events, support ART backlog refinement, promote DevOps and continuous delivery, and coordinate planning efforts with other ARTs.

  • Act as Servant leader and coach the ART, fostering Lean-Agile mindsets and practices, collaboration, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

  • Optimize Flow by ensuring smooth flow of value, establishing ART flow measures, accelerating flow, facilitating value stream mapping, and reducing/eliminating cross-team dependencies.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications :

  • Basic knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and/or Technology Infrastructure; understand other engineering processes and methodologies and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.

  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating and optimizing Scrum/Agile frameworks.

  • Ability to eliminate cross-team dependencies to help ARTs deliver value for our customers and to escalate/mitigate risks with ART leadership.

  • Emotional intelligence, level-headed diplomat, skilled listener, and clear communicator, with strong empathy traits, able to remain objective and constructive in all situations.

  • A Lean-Agile mindset and servant-leadership that supports the ART/teams in being self-organizing and sustains trust at all levels across the organization.

  • Ability to facilitate constructive debate and resolve disagreements and conflicts constructively; supports teams in problem identification and decision-making.

  • Proven willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, high demand work environment.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Technology, or Operations. Certified SAFe Scrum Master, CSM, A-CSM, or equivalents.

  • Total 5+ years of experience with a strong track record (2+ years) of Scrum Master experience for internal Products in high-growth environments, with experience in the SAFe framework highly preferred.

  • Domain knowledge is a big plus: Knowledge of various Agile and engineering processes and methods (Infrastructure, Operations, Software Engineering), can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/Enterprise. Prior experience with ADO, JIRA, etc will be helpful.
