Responsible for translating the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex technology solutions and integrating architecture. Acts as an advocate for the client as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems. Provides direction for design activities. Often project-based, sometimes working at customer sites.

NTT is currently seeking a Public Cloud Architect to join our CSD Managed Services Public Cloud organization.

The Public Cloud Architect will be leading technical thought leadership and delivery excellence related activities for managed services accounts. The ideal candidate has expert level knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex hosting solutions and migrations. The position is customer facing and will work closely with Product Owners, Applications Owners, Network and Security team to deliver the best solution for large scale infrastructure design and application migrations. Candidates should possess expert knowledge in public and hybrid cloud models. The architect needs to have the ability to provide insight into the workloads and their dependencies to map out the best strategy to migrate workloads to Azure. This will include determining the ideal groups of applications and defining a roadmap to move to the cloud.

Responsibilities :

  • Subject matter expert in Public Cloud Architecture and Cloud Adoption Frameworks, as it relates to compute, network, storage, and native SaaS/PaaS offerings

  • Partner with sales, product, and architecture teams to create architecture roadmaps and design product and services to meet customer needs

  • Adopt shift-left approach in each solution

  • Liaise with other Architecture teams to develop solution designs and review alternative solutions for best fit

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to develop tooling and infrastructure for cloud development and cloud operations use cases, with a focus on AKS/microservices deployment and distributed systems monitoring and fault analysis

  • Strategize with business and service lines to develop solutions based on a variety of criteria including a clear description of services, functionality, scalability, future proofing, and cost

  • Lead pre-production readiness efforts, POCs, lab testing and knowledge transfer; worked with engineering teams to accelerate software delivery

  • Implement landing zones and build public cloud infrastructure for migrations and new environments

  • Deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure using industry best practices

  • Adapt to changing priorities and thrive in very dynamic environment with multi stakeholders from multiple lines of businesses that may having competing needs; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends in cloud security. Deploy networking solutions by using the Azure Portal and other methods, including PowerShell, Azure Command-Line Interface (CLI)

  • Assist with client pre and post-sale engagements

  • Assist with technical aspects of solution proposals, SOW, and estimation

  • Define and implement infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques to migrate workloads into Azure

  • Work closely with the Product Engineer team to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of infrastructure

  • Leverage DevOps best practices to deploy Infrastructure as Code

  • Act as technical lead for Public Cloud projects for Managed Services

  • Contribute to and support execution of client engagements

  • Acting as a point of escalation for support and troubleshooting existing environments as issues arise (connectivity or performance issues for example)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Expert Azure Cloud infrastructure experience

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience designing, implementing, and operating secure architecture and reference architectures in public cloud

  • Azure Certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, Solutions Architect Expert

  • Exceptional documentation and diagramming skills

  • Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Cloud Infrastructure and Networking challenges

  • Must be able to effectively orchestrate and manage several dozen separate public cloud environments to a high standard of care and competence

  • Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders

  • Strong experience with adoption of CAF (Cloud Adoption Framework), adhering to principles of WAF (Well Architecture Framework) and demonstrated ability of Migrating applications to cloud using AMPP (Azure Migration Program)

  • Expertise in core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, network routing and security group/firewall management; extensive working knowledge of Azure products and services

  • Detailed understanding of secure network and application design concepts and a demonstrated ability to integrate security tools with IT infrastructure such as proxies, mail servers, Active Directory, Identity and Access controls, workstations, and mobile devices

  • Strong understanding of optimization techniques to drive optimal cost structures for applications running in the Public Cloud; knowledgeable in all facets of compute, network, and storage as it relates to Public Cloud Architectures

  • Azure networking: Hub and spoke, Virtual WAN, SD-WAN

  • Experienced in container and microservices such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

  • Automation; Infrastructure as Code; VM setup/teardown, scripting, platform tools (Azure Resource Manager), exposure to 3rd party tool like Terraform

  • Infrastructure as Code using tools such as but not limited to, Terraform, Git Lab

  • DevOps: Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Pipelines, Branching, Merges, Approval gates

  • Logging and monitoring of cloud deployments

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a computer science or information technology, computer engineering or similar field

  • TOGAF or similar architecture certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of other Hypervisors such as AWS, GCP, OCI

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

  • Terraform experience

  • AZ-140 preferred

  • AZ-400 preferred

  • AZ-700 preferred

  • Azure Solutions Architect

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
