deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be working as part of a software development team that is designing and developing software applications that will enhance Army aviation flight operations and training activities.

Responsibilities Include:

• Development is in a Microsoft Windows environment utilizing Visual Studio 2017/2019 and SQL Server 2016.
• The candidate's activities will include performing software analysis, design, and development according to existing coding standards and guidelines.
• Candidate will interpret and analyze requirements obtained/derived from customer; review, verify and/or validate system specifications and other design-related documentation.
• Work on a small agile development team where success is defined by the ability to understand your path forward, effectively communicate that path, and complete the task inherent to that path in a timely matter.
• Research advancements in computer science and related fields to help steer the product toward long term success.
• Communicate with leadership and the customer to ensure a common understanding of requirements.
• Document your work for the benefit of your teammates, the user, leadership, and posterity.
• Identify and solve challenging problems by writing performant, clean, and practical code.

Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Experience Requirements:

The successful candidate will have 2+ years of relevant experience.

• C# Programming Experience.
• Experience with .NET Framework and Visual Studio IDE.
• Experience with .NET Core/Web Development.
• Experience with MVC.
• Object-Oriented Programming and Design Experience.
• Unified Modeling Language (UML) Diagrams.
• Experience with .NET automated testing framework.
• Ability to create requirements specifications, design documentation and other technical documentation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices and object-oriented methodologies.
• Experience with SQL.
• Ability to build an intuitive User Interface (UI).
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including Agile methodologies.
• Ability to analyze a requirement, generate a design, and produce efficient, robust, and testable software.
• Mastery of computer science fundamentals, independent of a specific language.

Special Skills:

• Proficient in the Microsoft .NET 4.7 Framework.
