Job Title: Environmental Project Manager (Site Lead)

Location(s): Grand Junction, CO

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Hiring Range: $80,000- $125,000/yr. ( The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting a Site Lead for our Grand Junction or Westminster Offices to manage activities at our Amchitka, Alaska Site, and potentially other Nevada Offsites (NVOS). This position is responsible for client interactions necessary to support long-termenvironmentalsurveillance and maintenance activities at LM sites managed under the NVOS Program. This includes the development and maintenance of project budgets and schedules, completion of deliverables, and supporting LM in communications with stakeholders.

This position is required to travel or be in the field about 20% of the time.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions:

  • Develop and execute project plans, providing technical oversight and quality control.

  • Prepare project work scopes, schedules, and budgets and monitor project costs.

  • Plan and coordinate site inspections, sampling, and data collection activities at remote sites.

  • Lead and work with subject matter experts to acquire, organize, and analyze environmental field data.

  • Prepare technical reports summarizing environmental field data and monitoring results.

  • Present and communicate monitoring results to client, regulators, and stakeholders.

  • Identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation approaches and strategies.

  • Communicate effectively with client, regulators, project team members, and management.

  • Coordinate, monitor, and direct work performed by internal and external resources while adhering to internal policies and procedures.

  • Prepare cost estimates and evaluate subcontractor estimates, review subcontractor invoices and manage project costs using earned value management techniques.

  • Ensure project-related documents are complete, current, stored, and archived appropriately.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed :

  • Managed project budgets, schedules, and milestones.

  • Completed projects within a matrixed management system.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on customer service.

  • Ability to interface with client, regulators, stakeholders in a professional setting.

  • Executed work safely, and ability to lead by example and contribute to a safe work culture.

  • Strong logistical planning skills.

Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required:

  • Environmental regulations and compliance standards (EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA).

  • Site investigation, environmental sampling, and data collection.

  • Risk assessment principles.

  • Environmental science disciplines (i.e., geology, hydrogeology, engineering).

  • Earned value management reporting.

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate or willing to obtain PMP certificate.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects for federal clients.

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences (Geology or Hydrogeology), Engineering, and/or Environmental Sciences with 7 to 20 years’ of relevant experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Medium Work Category - The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, to reach with hands and arms, and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
