Job Description

Discover impactful work as our new Field Service Engineer (FSE) based in the Nordics! As an FSE, you will be responsible for delivering service activities including Installations, Repairs and Maintenance Services for the Instrument and Enterprise Services Group in EMEA. This highly exciting and professional role will deliver a high level of customer service resulting in customer happiness.

Responsibilities

You will primarily support our Nordic based customers utilising our Gas Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry product portfolio. You will:

Perform Field Service-related duties in line with internal rules, customer regulations and health and safety guidelines.

Specific product support to be given on G-IRMS instruments.

Work remotely providing on-site services exceeding customer expectations and ensuring that customers become promoters of our business through positive feedback and dedication.

Deliver the highest professional relationship with our customer base raising technical issues to quickly resolve accurately critical tasks as the need arises. Follow our ethical business conduct guidelines.

Enable the customer's success through their partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific. Utilise web-based, sales lead logging tools to ensure customers are offered those products and services they require enabling them to reach their objectives

Optimize own work schedule by coordinating with all the required partners for service planning (Dispatch function, Team Leader, Senior Manager)

Manage company assets including parts inventory, laptop computer, mobile phone, test equipment (ensuring validation calibration), tools, software, company car etc.

Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of activities including field service reports and expenses reports

Collaborate with the Sales team regarding lead generation, customer activities and updates.

Candidates can be based anywhere within Norway, Sweden or Denmark, providing you live close to an international airport.

Who we are looking for:

  • Professional background in Electronics/Chemistry/Engineering or related subjects

  • Experience in handling- or servicing analytical equipment gained either as an Engineer, application specialist or working as a Scientist or Technician in a laboratory

  • Some knowledge of inorganic mass spectrometry an advantage, but not critical

  • Proficient in English; additional Nordic languages a plus

  • A valid Driver’s License

  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing role, with an always customer-centric approach

  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills

  • Self-sufficient; comfortable working independently and a logical approach to setting work priorities

  • Willing and able to travel extensively on a weekly basis across the region (4 to 5 days per week), including some overnight stays and longer trips for trainings etc - up to 70% annum.
