Job Overview

A Data Steward is a data management professional who is responsible for data quality in collaboration with their stakeholders and internal resources within the Data Governance team. They ensure data integrity, availability, and usability to enable data-driven decision making for the organization. Data Stewards are responsible for data updates and maintenance across enterprise applications. Data Stewards are responsible for managing and prioritizing activities to mitigate data quality risks and issues, interpreting data policies and ensuring that data complies with enterprise policies and standards in demonstration of Policy compliance and Standards adoption.

This important role supports the company’s Data Governance by executing on all areas subject to data governance and assisting with key initiatives. The Data Steward reports to the Manager of Data Governance.

Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of assigned data management topics and serves as the owner of data for assigned business domains

  • Performs data validations and maintains issue log to present findings to Data Governance and business owners.

  • Cleanses data with Data Steward guidance and in accordance with Data Governance policies and procedures.

  • Understands the Master Data Management process and the data flow of each domain/entity.

  • Thoroughly understands and adheres to Data Governance policies and procedures.

  • Presents findings and maintains issue log to with oversight of a more experienced member of the team

  • Responsible for providing insights to resolve data integrity issues

  • Follows standard operating procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

  • Assists with special projects as needed

  • Create reports, dashboards and visualizations to help others understand business performance

  • Analyze process issues and bottlenecks to make improvements

  • Write clear and well-structured business requirements and documentation

  • Collaborate with Data Governance and BI Manager on roadmap planning and workforce optimization

  • Ensure that business is conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and values.

Qualifications

  • One year experience in data analysis highly preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup/Xlookup, if/or/and statements)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Azure ADO

  • Organized, detail-oriented, good time management skills and able to balance multiple priorities effectively

  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

  • Skill in reading and comprehending contract documents.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A strong customer service orientation towards your internal customers and stakeholders

  • Must work well in a team environment.

Preferred

  • College degree required or equivalent practical experience; business or information systems degree preferred

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM tools highly desired

  • Ability to query data using SOQL/SQL and development of Tableau Dashboards desired

  • Understanding of business operations a plus
