Job Summary

Dominion Energy Generation Station Projects is seeking a Project Manager for Warren County Power Station which is a 3 on 1 Combined Cycle. This position supports projects management team, managing capital projects from conception to completion. Experience required with major power plants and equipment including but not limited to turbines, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, electrical/instrumentation, operations, and other balance-of-plant systems.

Candidates must be highly motivated, be able to work with minimum supervision, and have effective communication skills. Candidates must be able to qualify for work in the field including confine space, climbing stairs and ladders, wearing a respirator, etc.

Responsibilities:

•Manages multiple major projects generally between $500k - $50M (Major Capital improvement projects, new construction, outage support)

•Oversees site safety, environmental, and construction requirements in accordance with Dominion Energy policy and local/state regulations

•Ensure all elements of the Contractor Safety Program are met and monitors safety on his/her projects

•Ensure appropriate permits are obtained; ensures contractor compliance with site environmental guidelines and obtains advance approval from the site Environmental Compliance Coordinator for materials and chemicals (e.g. concrete, oil, cleaner, lubricant, etc.) prior to allowing material onsite

•Responsible for development and management of the station’s 8 year Capital Project Plan, to include development of business cases, project request form creation and estimates

•Accountable for project success, customer satisfaction, and technical project execution and delivery

•Manages project risk through collaboration with the project team and customer

•Oversees scoping, planning, estimating, scheduling, resource planning, and procurement activities for all station projects including integration with non-project work during major outages

•Ensures all required construction permits are utilized including but not limited to: Digging/Drilling/Cutting (DDC); Welding/Flame; Confine Space; Rigging/Lifting

•Coordinates engineering resources by working proactively with Power Generation Engineering and contract external engineering as necessary to complete projects in a technically responsible fashion

•Ensures that a comprehensive, current scope of work and division of responsibility is maintained to include all vendor and Dominion scopes

•Supports the development, implementation, and management of contracts with suppliers and contractors to support material procurement and resources for project development and implementation

•Maintain project related information in electronical repository

•Responsible for coordination and communication of commissioning activities, engineering processes, and troubleshooting in the field

•Ensures turnover documentation, drawings, specifications, and training guides are provided to station management

•Leads development and management of specific portions of project budget and schedule

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

•7+ years of industry experience in the field of construction, engineering, and/or project management with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in project management.

•Must have the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously over a large geographic territory, and handle stakeholder teams representing different departments and interests

•Detailed technical knowledge of large power plant systems, equipment, and operations

•Demonstrated knowledge and experience of major power plants and equipment including but not limited to boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, electrical/instrumentation, and other balance-of-plant systems

•Must have good technical and cost management skills

•Demonstrated experience in evaluating project work for O&M and Capital classification

•Demonstrated computer skills

•Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and integration skills required

•Ability to coordinate processes and provide leadership in a team environment

•Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions including coordinating the resolution of technical problems and implementing changes

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology,

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE)

Other: Project Management certification preferred. Millstone must meet ANSI N18.1-1971, Section 4.6.2

  • Physical requirements for this position require the ability to bend, squat, occupy crawl spaces, operate machinery, work over open grating, not afraid of heights, and confined space areas
