The BloodFlowLab of Dr. Oliver Bracko is recruiting a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral associate to join our international and interdisciplinary team. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to our existing research projects focusing on contribution of microvascular inflammation to vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID). This position offers an excellent opportunity to advance our understanding of immune cell-vascular interactions and their contribution to brain blood flow reductions and inflammation in VCID, utilizing in vivo multiphoton imaging. The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and have a strong background in molecular biology, image analyses, and microscopy. Prior knowledge of multiphoton microscopy is desired. Excellent spoken and written English is required. The successful candidate will lead projects, collaborate with internal and external collaborators, and mentor students. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works and collaborates on studies related to field of study.

  • Ensures the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research and/or development in collaboration with a research team.

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories to potential inventions and products.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

  • Contributes to scientific literature and conferences, when appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written.

  • Must be detail oriented.

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Doctoral degree or equivalent in their specialty.
