SUMMARY:

The Carrier Placement Specialist monitors all Property and Casualty marketing and workloads for each, providing assistance to marketing team as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong long-lasting relationships with insurance carriers and company contacts. Develop in-depth knowledge of different insurance products offered by insurance carriers – rating plans and programs. Contact carriers as necessary to discuss issues and problems.

  • Market new business and renewal accounts by preparing insurance submissions which will include applications, loss runs and any other pertinent information on the account; track all new business and renewal activity.

  • Drive quality insurance products for clients on middle market and large accounts.

  • Analyze market information in order to develop, design, and implement creatives strategies for sales team members and clients.

  • Submit the insurance submission to the insurance carriers for quoting and following on submissions.

  • Negotiate pricing and coverage options on new business and renewal accounts. Organize marketing materials of insurance carriers as a resource for the agency.

  • Prepare insurance proposals reflecting coverages and premiums to submit to clients and prospects.

  • Transfer new business and renewals to assigned CSR once account has been bound with the insurance carrier.

  • Ensure compliance with government agencies and company policies and procedures.

  • Attend training sessions, courses, meetings to maintain up to date skills.

  • Always conduct a high level of confidentiality.

  • Track, maintain, and update current information of all contacts with the insurance carriers with any changes in the company electronic system.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Valid state of Florida License 2-20 required.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of commercial lines experience required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all commercial lines coverage.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Responds with a sense of urgency as required.

  • Ability to work independently but also assists members of the team.

  • High Degree of self-motivation, discipline, and discretion.

  • Advanced time management and organization skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel knowledge.

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Education: High school or equivalent
