Job Purpose: This position will normally sort in a rotation with other team members on a daily basis to ensure the consistent flow of linen to other departments. Supervises: None Competency: Must be able to read and write, speak to communicate ideas or thoughts to others, and perform basic math functions at a level normally acquired by completion of a High School or GED program. Job Duties:

• Accepts responsibility for the safety and health of employees and visitors by making sure safety policies, rules, or regulations are adhered to at all times and personally intervenes immediately to isolate any unsafe situation to prevent injury or damage to property and reporting it.
• Executes sanitation practices that ensure the Soil/Sort and Wash area remain clean and sanitary at all times. This includes wiping down carts and all work surfaces on a frequent basis as well as sweeping and mopping floors on a routine basis or more frequently as needed.
• Ensures that the plant remains free of clutter, debris, or anything that might negatively impact the ability to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
• Understands CDHL policies and procedures including a full understanding of linen sorting and washing procedures and operations.
• Works proficiently in the positionof Laundry Sorter and may assist with other department duties as needed. Required to safely operate all tools and equipment used in the department.
• Adapts to rapidly changing situations and works diligently to meet all goals within allotted deadlines. Communicates any barriers to achieving goals with the Department Supervisor, General Manager, or Plant Manager.
• Communicates problems or conflicts to the Supervisor or General Manager.
• Must maintain a positive attitude and be supportive of other employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Requires a willingness to learn new things , the ability to overcome challenges, and adapt to changes.

Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time, pulling and pushing carts and linen, grasping (hand and finger dexterity), and stair climbing.
