PNC Software Engineer Principal in Birmingham, Alabama

Job Description

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer Principal in Birmingham, AL, with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems for up to three days per week, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Participate in all aspects of PNC's Retail Technology MIS Delivery organization activities. Core responsibilities include: (i) align business strategy with software solutions; (ii) propose, design and code software solutions to address complex business needs and oversee technical and procedural documentation required; (iii) lead complex problem solving; (iv) provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development; (v) display an innovative approach to apply modern principles, methodologies, and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities; (vi) partner with business stakeholders and product owners to prioritize technology deliverables; (vii) perform code reviews, suggest potential improvements and formulate best practices; and (viii) ensure quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science plus 5 years of software development experience involving the identification of user requirements and performing research and analysis to determine conceptual design for solving business problems. Must have experience with: (i) planning, designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining system development life cycle segments and phases; (ii) creating technical design and application architecture diagrams; (iii) establishing and maintaining file transfer connectivity using SFTP, NDM and Connect Direct to transmit data between internal and external systems; (iv) designing, developing and maintaining mobile and web applications; (v) content management system tool AEM; (vi) creating events and listeners on content and interaction to produce meaningful reporting (Google Analytics or Adobe Web Analytics to analyze reported customer journey data on the web pages); (vii) integrating to external vendor products (translation services) and Adobe products Site Catalyst, Test & Target, Communities, and Forms with Experience Manager; (viii) leveraging APIs / Web services; (ix) Angular JS, HTML5, JQuery, JSTL, JavaScript, AJAX and front-end frameworks; (x) cloud solutions with configuring Dev-Ops / continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools Git, Jenkins and Maven; (xi) supporting Single-Sign On (SSO) technology for internal and external vendor applications using SAML; (xii) Java, J2EE, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, Docker, RESTful Web Services, and GraphQL; (xiii) technical troubleshooting, unit test case, AEM web console, error logs, browser console debugging; and (xiv) aligning to business and IT priorities by leveraging waterfall, iterative and Agile methodologies, while coaching and mentoring team members.

40 hours/week, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
