Organizational Overview

SS&C Health (formerly DST Health Solutions) provides healthcare reform through a full range of BPO and turnkey healthcare administration solutions. Role Overview

Our group is made up of engineers with varying levels of professional experience and backgrounds, from recent graduates to 20-year veterans of the healthcare industry. We are looking for creative engineers and technologists: relevant industry experience is important, but less so than your demonstrated abilities, passion and attitude. We’re always improving and looking for individuals that enjoy being challenged and have a strong desire to make the engineering experience better for our users.

As a PowerBuilder developer within a small autonomous group, you will work both independently and as part of a distributed team to enhance and support our products. You will be expected to mentor/guide more junior developers, collaborate with business leaders and QA engineers to scope, plan, and execute on product roadmaps.


  • Design & implement applications & services supporting business goals

  • Support our client install base during release upgrades and as issues arise

  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders as part of an Agile/Scrum team

  • Estimate stories, plan sprints and releases

  • Assist and guide more junior peers, perform code reviews


  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work-related experience, or Master’s degree and 1 year of work-related experience, or 5 years equivalent work-related experience

  • 5+ years experience with PB 12.5 or newer

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating use of OOP

  • Experience developing web services, IIS, PB.Net experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of PB Foundation Classes

  • XML, use of PBDom

  • Experience using debugging tools like Fiddler, SoapUI

  • Healthcare domain knowledge is a plus
