JOB TITLE: Distributed Generation Study Engineer

LOCATION: Hampden/Hybrid Work Model

REPORTS TO: MANAGER OF Asset Management

POSITION STATUS: EXEMPT, NON-BARGAINING UNIT, FULL TIME

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Asset Management, this position encompasses engineering duties for Distributed Generation (DG) primarily on our distribution system. Work closely with our internal DG team as well as with solar developers as they work to interconnect to our system. This will involve project screening, system impact studies, and project estimating.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review solar developer documents for completeness and updated documents for changes.\ Utilize CYME and GIS software for Distribution Project screening.\ Work with various consulting firms to initiate and review DG project studies that are required for interconnection.\ Work with the rest of the of the DG team within Asset Management as well as other departments.\ Pre-liminary Engineering design and creation of project estimates that are formulated based on the study results.\ Review project estimates and scope documents with Solar developers.\ Maintain project documents throughout the study process.\ Develop short term capital projects for reliability improvement. This will include project development, scope, justification, and priority setting.\ Work with the rest of the Asset Management group on overall capital prioritization of each years plan.\ QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.\ A minimum of 3 years working with T&D utility preferred.\ Experience with PC based software including CYME, and GIS preferred.\ Strong Microsoft Office skills required.\ Self-starter\

NOTES:

Position requires sitting, standing, driving, and walking on uneven terrain.\ Position requires concentration and strong organizational skills\ Versant Power is a tobacco free and fragrance-free workplace.\ Usual work hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Extra hours are required.\ Other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration.
