Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs.

Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps, or desktop applications products.

Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.

Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Working at NTT

The primary responsibility of the Software Applications Development Engineer is to develop new applications and improve upon existing ones that will our client and business needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop applications that effectively accomplish client objectives and user needs.

Design and write code for applications and maintain applications databases.

Analyze and edit existing software applications to improve and optimize functionality, fix problems, and enable their use on new hardware platforms.

Remodel and adapt applications as needed to optimize performance.

Identify specific customer and client needs and preferences related to the application.

Test applications extensively to ensure they are error and bug-free.

Install applications and act as technical advisor.

Communicate with relevant internal technical stakeholders to obtain information on project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.

Consult with clients in the design phase to determine client needs.

Produce software documentation following company software process and templates.

Participates in software product review meetings and team meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

• Cloud-native design and development utilizing system architectures for the unique capabilities of the cloud, such as horizontal scaling, distributed processing, and automating the replacement of failed components.

• Contribute to application development on multiple large-scale, mission-critical systems.

• Expertise in one or more public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure, with end-to-end implentation experience.

• Must have development experience of cloud native and spring based micro-services and deploying them on Kubernetes, Serverless, etc.

• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) with cloud native data management capabilities (e.g. relational db, no-sql db, graph db and object storage).

• Experience building frameworks and custom annotations in Springboot to enable better tooling, code analysis, and code generation to standardize security, auditability and observability.

• Are familiar with modern development stack, e.g. Java 8+, TypeScript, React or Angular, GraphQL, NoSQL, RDBMS

• Worked with source control like Git

• Understanding of CI/CD, rapid delivery on production

• Experience with one of the cloud platform like AWS, Azure etc.

• Understanding different Agile methodologies

• Ability to write quality unit and end–to–end tests; debug and optimize existing and new code.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering

• Relevant certifications

Required Experience:

• Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience

• Java, Springboot, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP/Azure, OpenID Connect, Design Patterns, Microservices, OpenAPI, SAGA Patterns, SOLID principles, Data Migration Strategy, UML and Data Modelling,NoSQL or RDBMS

• Experience working in an Agile environment
