Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Austin, Texas

Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing various accounts payable (A/P) and related accounting functions. This includes processing accounts payable transactions, reconciling disbursement bank accounts and general ledger accounts, performing simple-to-medium analyses, communicating with outside vendors and external department/firm personnel, and fulfilling administrative tasks and other duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounts payable mailbox, reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Process invoices and employee expense reports as part of the accounts payable tasks.

• Handle issuance of credit memos and manage stop payments, voids, and reissuance of checks when necessary.

• Assist in weekly pay cycles, encompassing check printing and processing of ACH and positive pay bank files.

• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and related issues.

• Communicate and respond timely to inquiries from vendors and employees regarding invoices, disbursement payments, employee expense reimbursements, and corporate credit cards.

• Facilitate the monthly general ledger close process by preparing requisite journal entries, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining supporting documentation for financial close.

• Prepare various reports and reconciliations of simple to moderate complexity.

• Provide support and backup to other members of the accounting team as required.

• Undertake administrative tasks and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Requirements • Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP)

• Expertise in account reconciliation

• Experience in processing check runs

• Ability to handle coding invoices

• Strong data entry skills

• Proficiency in invoice processing

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Oracle

• Experience in using QuickBooks

• Knowledge of SAP

• High tech engineering industry experience is a plus.
