SUMMARY:

The Prospect Research Analyst conducts research and runs a constituent management system in support of fund-raising activities. Compiles a general understanding of donors and prospects and generates metrics reflecting their potential philanthropy. Supports and participates in prospect management activities. Advises on appropriate strategies for cultivation and solicitation of prospects. This position will report to the Senior Associate Director, Development.

FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Conducts research and writes reports in support of fund-raising activities.

  • Generates comprehensive briefing reports on individuals, corporations, and foundations and identifies new prospects for University projects.

  • Serves as a liaison between the Development officers and the Research office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years prospect research experience.

  • Proficiency with various personal computer software applications and familiarity with on-line data retrieval systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or SharePoint software a plus.

  • Experience in not-for-profit fundraising.

  • Experience with standard office software.

  • Knowledge of Web and database research, excellent oral and written communications skills.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines.  All non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia. The Carter Center reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
