Amazon Sr. Product Manager, Data Center Planning and Delivery (AMER) in Arlington, Virginia

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Analysis and Tooling Lead to join the Americas Business Operations team within the Data Center Delivery organization at our Seattle, WA, Herndon, VA or Arlington, VA office.

As the Analysis and Tooling lead, you will guide operational excellence by developing and implementing frameworks for analyzing data center delivery program, project and performance data across the high-volume Americas region. You will identify trends and challenges and develop and implement process improvement initiatives and tools that help Infrastructure TPMs and planners in this region build faster and more efficiently. This fast-paced, high-visibility role requires timely input from cross-functional teams to ensure analyses are accurate and complete and remediation are developed and implemented effectively. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.

The candidate should have strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience using data (including SQL) and metrics to drive improvements and business decisions. Proficient at creating data visualizations (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, Excel pivots, other).

The ideal candidate has the ability to earn trust with multiple stakeholder groups, outstanding business acumen and judgment, intense curiosity, strong technical and organizational skills, and superior communication skills. They will have a strong bias toward data driven decision making. They will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, have a bias for action (while paying careful attention to detail), and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

The candidate should have experience applying a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.

If you enjoy the challenges of deploying technical and innovative projects at massive scale, and simplifying the way data is received/interpreted by others, this job is for you!

As a Product Manager in this role, you'll be responsible for visioning, designing, and deploying analyses and tools to support the Data Center Delivery team deliver new capacity in the Americas and Gov clusters. You'll work with key global partners within and outside the DCPD org such as DC-Planning, Finance, CDPA-BI, PAC, Construction, Real Estate, Networking, and more!
