Eaton Corporation Engineering Manager- Software QA in Hadapsar, India

What you’ll do:

At Eaton India Innovation Center, Center for Software Platforms and Products is currently seeking a Software QA Manager to join our team!

This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. As the technical leader responsible for mobile applications, you will provide leadership to global technology teams working on IoT and connected device solutions . You will contribute along with engineering leaders by setting priorities and goals, ensuring the achievement of deliverables and other milestones, collaborations with other teams, establishing a progressive work culture and improving standards in how we deliver to our customers.

A successful candidate for this role will have prior experience with mobile application development for iOS and Android using native platform SDKs as well as popular cross-platform SDKs (e.g. react-native). You are passionate and excited about technology and are able to apply a balance between new technologies and the needs of customers. You are driven and thrive in globally distributed team environments, and possess an energizing leadership style that influences and drives change. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and tasks while adapting quickly to changing priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to create new/adjacent solutions/services in the IoT space in order to enhance the customer life time value of the products in the Eaton portfolio

• Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain. Review and approve Architecture/Design proposals based on requirements/statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers

• Continuously develop and contribute to enhancing the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design in line with present and future business needs

• Influencing role in the creation of technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization’s capability

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders , ecosystem partners to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution required

  • Proven 15+ total software industry experience, with focus towards mobile app development with iOS and Android platforms.

  • Strong SW domain expertise and proven track record of creating solution architecture (fit for purpose) for IoT based products

Skills:

  • Team Leadership: Leading a team of QA and DevOps engineers, including hiring, training, and performance management.

  • Quality Assurance Strategy: Developing and implementing QA automation strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality software development processes.

  • Testing Processes: Overseeing the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and automated tests to verify software functionality, reliability, and performance.

  • Tool Selection and Implementation: Selecting and implementing appropriate testing tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaboration: Collaborating with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality goals and requirements.

  • Risk Management: Identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risks related to software quality and project delivery.

  • Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA processes, methodologies, and metrics.

  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Establishing key quality metrics and generating reports to track and communicate software quality status and trends.

  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to software quality and testing.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Monitoring customer feedback and satisfaction levels to identify areas for improvement and drive customer-centric quality initiatives.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills, along with a deep understanding of software development methodologies and quality assurance principles particularly for cloud applications.
