Data Management Coordinator

Job Description:

Job Summary: Maintain CIBMTR/NMDP data reporting compliance based on Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) criteria. Manage stem cell transplant database. Prepare data for analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

Prepare and report transplant data to Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant (CIBMTR) and National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP).

Answer queries regarding incomplete or ambiguous data. Monitor quality and timeliness of data submissions.

Manage transplant database on an ongoing basis.

Perform elementary data analysis using SAS or SPSS. Maintain data dictionary.

Maintains JMP software ensuring updates are made on a regular basis.

Required Qualifications:

Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

3-5 years related work experience required.

Strong communication skills. Strong decision making skills regarding database design.

Ability to follow through on commitments. Ability to follow-through on assignments in a timely manner. Pursue work with energy and drive.

Knowledge of statistical software SPSS/SAS.

Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to train new staff with the procedures.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to use time efficiently and effectively.

Independence of Action: Ability to follow precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations. Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager.

Written Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

Customer Service: Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.

Physical Nature of the Job:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally
