Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Business Strategy, Global Trade Services in Bellevue, Washington

Global Trade Services (GTS) plays a critical role in the compliant movement of goods and technology across borders. We work with a world-wide team of compliance professionals, operations teams, software developers and business partners to enable continuity and growth in a dynamic import/export environment.

This Senior Program Manager leads GTS high-risk Enablement, unlocking new business through an existing portfolio, as well as a charter to innovate on behalf of our customers to enable the import of compliant products around the world. You'll be the single-threaded leader, bringing your experience in defining a vision, managing end-to-end program lifecycles, creating comprehensive roadmaps with clear milestones, and driving accountability across multiple partners. You'll be a primary point of contact with Amazon business teams, fostering strong relationships and collaborating to understand prioritization. Working together, you'll execute on shared goals, and support Amazon's vendors in navigating compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, bringing the right stakeholders together to create solutions for intricate compliance challenges. Project Management expertise is essential, as is the ability to measure program health through the development and reporting of key metrics.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define program strategy and roadmap to unlock new high-risk import opportunities, supporting business growth

  • Build collaborative relationships across multiple teams in a highly matrixed environment

  • Influence technology development and decisions for tools used to expand high-risk product selection globally

  • Develop best-in-class solutions that streamline the validation of regulatory requirements

  • Manage program execution end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery

  • Collect, analyze, and present data to drive decision-making across the organization

  • Exercise strong judgement that cultivates stakeholder trust

  • Communicate effectively, providing continued visibility into programs and initiatives

A day in the life

In this role, no two days will be the same. You'll primarily spend your time defining and delivering against strategic goals, leading brainstorming sessions, attending meetings, writing collaboratively, or working independently. You'll also have some tactical responsibilities, with an aim to automate or offload that as your program matures. You'll have peers who are willing to partner and knowledge share, as well as leaders who are supportive and experienced Amazonians. You'll join us in the office most days, with flexibility to work virtually a couple days per week.

Global Trade Services (GTS) empowers customers, vendors, sellers and internal partners to efficiently move compliant and safe products, technology, and software across borders. We build import/export solutions to place the right products in the right destinations at the right time and cost. We expertly navigate increasing regulatory compliance complexity to mitigate risk, increase predictability and earn trust with external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • 6+ years of program management, risk management, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
