Job Description:

Staffing of the gallery, including but not limited to greeting gallery guests and handling art sales, social media, working sales register, cleaning the space, opening, and closing the gallery, and general assistant tasks.

Applicant will be responsible for becoming familiar with exhibiting artists' work/mediums and upcoming classes, setting-up the building space, and the intake of program participants. Shifts are needed for Saturdays 11 - 4 with other options during the week during open hours (T-F 1 - 6) with some nights and weekends as needed for events or exhibition installations. This is a great position for an art student wanting to learn how a gallery is run.

Expected Salary:

$13/hr

Minimum Requirements:

This is a Federal Work Study position, no exceptions. Must provide proof of work study in application.

We are looking for someone who can stay on through the summer. CANDIDATE MUST BE PLANNING ON TAKING CLASSES AND ELIGIBLE FOR WORK STUDY DURING THE UPCOMING SUMMER SEMESTER.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience and/or interest in art, social media marketing, museum studies, business, or other related fields.

Looking for creative and self-motivated students with strong customer service skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with GFAA staff, volunteers, program participants and the public. Successful candidates will be trained on gallery procedures and art sales.

Experience with social media, graphic or web design are a plus.
